The Royal Armouries welcomes visitors with disabilities and hopes that you find your day with us an enjoyable and memorable occasion. We value your visit and your viewpoints on the services that we provide.

Parking for Disabled Visitors

5 designated parking spaces are provided for disabled visitors, in the coach park area, next to the Tiltyard, 100 metres from the Museum entrance.

To access these parking spaces:

Further parking spaces for disabled people are available on the ground floor of the nearby multi-storey car park . These are chargeable.

Free parking for minibuses is also available, next to the Tiltyard.

Drop-off Point

There is a drop-off point near to the Museum entrance, which located 100 metres away across a level paved area.

At the Door

There are automatic doors which lead into the Museum, with an accessible adapated toilet facility on your right. At the far end of the the entrance hall is the Information Desk where you will be greeted by a member of the Front of House team ready to help with any requests.

Wheel Chair Provision

There are four manual wheelchairs in the Museum and these are available for the duration of your visit. These are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please ask at the Information Desk upon your arrival.

Toilet Facilities

There are accessible adapted toilet facilities at the main entrance to the Museum on the right side and on floors 1,2 and 4. There are also accessible adapted toilet facilities in the Nelson Bistro which is located on the ground floor to the left of the entrance. There are also baby-changing facilities available.

Getting about the Museum

A What’s On leaflet of the day’s activities can be collected from the admission desks. All galleries and the Tiltyard have spaces for wheelchair users, and staff will help you find a good view of the events on show.

Emergency Evacuation

In the event of an evacuation of the building, a Gallery Host will explain the quickest and safest way to exit the Museum.

Guide dogs are permitted in the Museum. – guide dogs include seeing eye, hearing and service dogs.
